We created initiatives like La Despensa in concert with community leaders who resonate with our mission and vision. These leaders have experienced the challenges — and understand the intricacies — of food inequities in our region. Community Empowerment
When community members visit La Despensa or attend a Community Day at our farm, they experience more than a transaction of food. They are met with the familiar faces of their neighbors and leaders from their community, which instills a sense of belonging and empowerment.
