Collaborative Leadership & Community Resilience

Leadership at Presente! is not about hierarchy; it’s about collaboration, community, and genuine engagement. Drawing strength from our community, we continuously evolve our programs and strategies to address immediate needs while also advancing long-term goals.

Our resilience comes from our shared vision, a vision rooted deeply in ancestral traditions and the understanding that our liberation is bound together.

Community-Driven Leadership
From our Despensa Solidaria to the fields of our farm, leadership at Presente! is reflective of our community. We also lean on the very community we serve to help drive our initiatives at both the state and local level. During our initial fight to close MaineCare coverage gaps, a dedicated team of five community members co-designed, envisioned, and implemented our advocacy efforts.

Reawakening Dormant Bonds
Colonization sought to sever the ties between us, but our ancestral traditions remind us daily: our destinies are interconnected. While many in our community recognize this truth, its essence has been subdued by external forces. At Presente!, we encourage remembering and embodying this wisdom. Whether it's responding to a crisis or advocating for rights, our actions aim to reinforce the social and cultural fabric of our community.

Fortifying Our Community
More than infrastructure or finances, our most treasured resource is our people — their visions, leadership, and unwavering spirit to transform our current state. Our actions, from COVID-crisis responses to land reclamation, are all about nurturing collective capacity, care, and connection. As we work towards this, we also engage in meaningful dialogues with local organizations and institutions, ensuring that the Latinx community always has equitable access to resources, services, and support.
